Pentatonic Blues Lesson

lessons

“Free online guitar lessons” are everywhere, but a really good lesson site can be hard to find. The Internet is a medium that often suffers from its own comprehensiveness, burying gems beneath a mass of sponsored sites, broken links and mislabeled tags. Mediocrity always has the numbers, by definition.

Gibson’s lesson page rises above the fray, offering an impressive collection of practice tools sorted by instrument, skill level, musical style, and other attributes. (You can even pick your favorite Gibson-wielding artist). Notably, visitors can view the tab as they watch the video lesson or hear the mp3 lick.

Here is a random lesson from Gibson’s site - a classic pentatonic blues run - that should be challenging enough for the beginner-to-intermediate crowd to maintain interest, but not so daunting as to overwhelm.

Your mileage may vary, of course, so sort for yourself.
